Matilda Jayne

I have grown up in Whitby a little fishing town on the North Yorkshire coast - now more famous for Goths than haddock - but times change. Exploring the coast and countryside is something I have done since I was big enough to walk, I have lots of muddy memories of scrambling in the beck at Falling Foss - and refuelling in the tea garden afterwards. My mother photographed everything and the backdrop to her pictures is the beautiful landscape I now photograph myself, in my own style.

My surroundings are iconic and photographed thousands of times, I like to take pictures from a slightly different perspective, waiting patiently for a clear shot, jumping out of the way of an errant wave. 

Above all I hope you enjoy the peace and tranquility of my captures as much as I do.
